FIRST AID?
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA ENGLAND®) is an internationally recognised training course which teaches people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first aid basis.
Our Mental Health First Aid Courses will equip you with the essential skills to listen, reassure, and respond effectively, even in a crisis. Just like physical first aid, MHFA empowers you to provide critical support when it's needed most. Our Adult MHFA courses are designed for everyone aged 16 and up, making them accessible to a broad audience.

2 Day Course (Full Certification - MHFAiders®)Our engaging two-day course qualifies you as a Mental Health First Aider, equipping you with the skills and knowledge to make a real difference. The course offers an in-depth exploration of mental health, including the factors that can affect well-being. You’ll gain practical skills to identify triggers and signs of mental health issues, along with the confidence to step in, reassure, and support someone in distress. You’ll also develop enhanced interpersonal skills, such as non-judgmental listening, and learn how to guide individuals toward recovery by connecting them with appropriate resources—whether through self-help, their employer, the NHS, or a combination of these options. The course is interactive, featuring group activities, presentations, discussions, and videos, all structured around a comprehensive Mental Health First Aid action plan. As part of the program, you’ll receive a full set of MHFA First Aider materials, access to a subscription-only support app, a 24/7 helpline, and ongoing webinars and CPD opportunities. Upon completion, you’ll receive an MHFA manual for ongoing reference and a certificate to confirm your status as a qualified MHFAiders®.

1 Day Course (MHFA Champion)Our one-day mental health awareness and skills course qualifies you as an MHFA Champion, empowering you to be an advocate for mental health within your organisation. Throughout the course, you’ll gain a solid understanding of common mental health issues, learn how to confidently promote mental health awareness, and develop the ability to recognise signs of mental ill health. Additionally, you'll acquire essential skills to support positive well-being in others. The course is interactive, featuring a mix of group activities, presentations, discussions, and videos, all centred around a practical Mental Health First Aid action plan. Upon completion, you’ll receive a comprehensive set of MHFA Champion materials, including an MHFA manual for ongoing reference and a certificate confirming your status as an MHFA Champion. You’ll also be provided with the Line Managers' Resource—a valuable guide for supporting employees experiencing mental ill health. Half Day Mental Health Awareness CourseOur half-day course offers a 3.5-hour interactive introduction to mental health, providing you with essential insights and practical tools. Designed to raise awareness and understanding, this session covers key topics such as what mental health is, the Mental Health Continuum, stress management, anxiety, and self-care. By participating in this course, you will: Gain a clear understanding of mental health and learn how to challenge stigma Acquire basic knowledge of common mental health issues Explore ways to look after your own mental health and maintain well-being Build confidence to support someone in distress or experiencing a mental health issue The course includes bespoke workbooks for reference and ongoing learning, ensuring you leave with valuable resources to support your mental health journey.

MHFAiders® Refresher Course (required to maintain certification)In order to retain their certification as Mental Health First Aiders, participants are required to complete the MHFA Refresher Course every three years. Once completed, they will be invited to continue with the Association of Mental Health First Aiders. This ensures they have the resources and support needed to confidently assist others. By investing in the MHFA Refresher course, you’ll keep your MHFAiders motivated, empowered, and prepared to fulfil their roles, giving you confidence in their ability to perform effectively. This four-hour MHFA Refresher course will benefit your Mental Health First Aiders by: Refreshing their skills Updating their knowledge of mental health support Providing an opportunity to practice the Mental Health First Aid action plan
